Welcome 2011

Wow, 2011 is here!  This is a very exciting and special year for us as our first child will be born.  It's your year baby and we can't wait for your arrival!  We have a lot to look forward to: Our 2 baby showers are coming up in February and of course hosting a party for the super bowl is a tradition I always LOVE!, Dan's 28th birthday in March and our baby's due date, my 25th birthday and our 4 year wedding anniversary in June, as well as the honor of being a bridesmaid in 2 of my best girlfriends wedding's.  Whew... and I'm sure a lot more!

We rang in the New Year with our bestest of friends again and us women had a wonderful day of surprises!  The men took control and planned everything!  Yes, you heard me, everything!  Can I get a woot woot?!!  We were told to meet at the Glendenning's apartment and our first clue would be given to us.  It was a riddle that led us to a note in a stocking above the fireplace that had directions to our first stop.  We drove to the address listed and lo and behold it was a nail spa!!  We were pampered with manicure's and pedicures!  Our husbands know how to treat us right!  We were then given another note that instructed us to go back to the apartment.  We arrived to a very well decorated apartment and yummy appetizers, and of course another note and video (of my cute husband I might add!) telling us to take our time getting ready for the evening, have fun and enjoy the food.  We sure did!  A few hours later the guys "Skype-d" us and told us to then drive to the Knapp's house for the rest of our surprise and evening.  We got there and were welcomed by our handsome husbands in their suits and ties, again the house being decorated and a delicious smell coming from the kitchen.  The table was lined with amazing Tapas (Spanish) appetizers that we later found out they slaved away making for 5 hours!  We sure are loved!  And the best thing too was... it was all absolutely delicious.  Great job you guys!  We then played the game "Minute to Win it" in the Knapp living room- Nick caught 12+ pencils that rested on his wrist, Ryan shook it like crazy trying to get 8 ping pong balls out of a Kleenex box that was attached to a belt around his waist, Lucas knocking over bottles with a sock and tennis ball hanging from his head, Joei successfully pulling out Kleenex from 2 boxes, and Dan and I balancing M&Ms on top of straws. We’ll try to put the videos on YouTube, and who knows…we might be contestants on the show! It was so much fun and we had PLENTY of laughs!

So, 2011, we welcome you with open arms!  We are so pumped to see what the LORD has in store for us as we begin our family come March.  We are looking forward to growing with our small group through reading the book "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan and being challenged in our Faith.  We are excited to spend quality time with our families.  Thank you LORD for all of these many blessings, we give you all the glory!

With a thankful heart,
Kate
