Resurrection Sunday

Jesus is ALIVE!!  Amen and Amen!

This year is a year of firsts for our son, and it started out with his 1st Easter.  It was so special to celebrate our risen LORD with Josiah.  We went to our church, Harvest Bible Chapel, on Saturday night with my family for the Easter service.  And wow was it good!  We sang some of my favorite songs of praise to our King and of course the Harvest tradition of cheering and clapping and holding up signs (ex. "Jesus is Alive") after Pastor James says "Christ is Risen!"  BUT this year they added a special touch... they had confetti shot out from these "blowers" into the crowd!  It was so cool!  What a celebration!

The Confetti aftermath!

On Easter Sunday we woke up and had a relaxing morning at home before we headed out to Hampshire.  We then got to my parents in the afternoon and spent the day with my family, Mom and Dad Haskell and the Carril's, (aka Sean's cute girlfriend and her family!).  Josiah had 3 Easter baskets and 2 gifts to open, wow is he spoiled!  We had an amazing ham dinner with delicious salads and bread and apple pie for dessert.  It was a memorable Resurrection Sunday!

4 weeks old today!

Josiah is 4 weeks old today!  No, not officially one month (April 17th), but 4 weeks none the less.  Wow has time flown by.  My little prince has already grown so much- weighing in at 9lb 14oz and 23 1/4 in long!  His looks are changing day by day, and he is starting to be more awake now, which means: play time!!  It is SO incredible to see his eyes wide open and watch him stare at things- especially into mommy's eyes! =)  He has so much to explore, learn and look at- you can only imagine what he is all thinking!  Like when he dreams and makes all those funny faces and noises... what could he possibly be dreaming about?!

In just the 4 short weeks of Josiah's life so far, I have learned a lot about him and his little personality already.  Here is a list of 10 things I LOVE about Josiah:

1.  He is such a good baby!  Now of course I'm a new mommy and don't have anything to compare him to, but you ask anyone that is close to us and they will agree he is! ; )
2.  He is laid back!  In other words... relaxed, easy going, chill, go with the flow...you get the picture!  This I guess is what helps make him a GOOD baby!
3.  His cry!  Yes, I mean it when I say I love his cry.  It's sweet music to my ears!
4.  His smile!  Whether its because he's dreaming, pooping or just happy... that smile melts my heart!
5.  As he wakes up and stretches and makes the cutest noises!
6.  How he snorts like a pig when he's worked up!  I have no idea where that came from!
7.  As I said earlier... how he stares into my eyes!
8.  His cute little button nose and beautiful blue eyes!
9.  How he yawns so big it startles him and makes him cry!  : (
10.  He looks like ME!!  This may change, and I would love for him to look like his handsome daddy, but for now I'm lovin the fact that he looks like his mommy!

I know it sounds cliche when I say I could stare at him all day long, but it's true and guess what?  I DO!!  I have the privilege to be at home with Josiah every day so I can care for him and learn all these wonderful things I love so much about him.  I'm so thankful for a hard working husband who goes to work everyday to provide for our family so I can be home with our son.  I count it an absolute blessing!  I just LOVE being Josiah's mommy.  There is no greater joy!  It is such an honor and I thank God for entrusting him to us.

I can honestly say I LOVE everything about motherhood.  Even those sleepless nights, dirty diapers, getting spit up on, peed on, pooped on, ect., feeding every 3 hours, not being able to get a shower in, it taking 3 times as long to get out the door and so on.  BUT its all worth it when: YOU get to hold your baby at 3am to soothe him when he cry's, YOU see his smile after he has a full tummy because YOU fed him, YOU get to watch him sleep and pray over his life, YOU take him shopping and everyone tells YOU how cute he is, YOU get to give him a bath and see how much he loves it, YOU get to read him a bedtime story and tuck him in at night, and YOU are the one he'll love the rest of his life for doing all those things!  The love of your child is indescribable, it's such a fierce love.  It's the BEST!  And I LOVE it!  Can you tell?!  = )

Lovin Life,
