As July 4th quickly approached this year, we hadn't given it much thought in advance to
our plans, especially since it was in the middle of the week. But our new friends, Ryan & Emily Baker, who we met last year on our annual weekend up at Lake Geneva with the Schwartz's, invited us to join them at the Elgin parade & lunch at their place after. So we took them up on their offer & had a great time! Ryan & Emily have 2 sons, Colin (2) & Elijah (4mo.), & since their birthdays are in March too that means Josiah is smack dab in the middle of these 2 age wise, pretty cool! Colin & Josiah both loved the parade, especially the firetrucks & Josiah loved the dogs too! It sure was another HOT day though, so we left slightly before the parade ended & played at their house before lunch. We are so thankful to have met the Baker's & look forward to many more years of friendship!
